Hip Tot at Lakeside was a smash hit!
Thanks to everyone who made it happen
June 15th 2014 was a special Father’s Day. It was the first Hip Tot event at Lakeside Prospect Park! There was music, crafts, giveaways, skating, splashing and fun for everyone.
Lakeside really came alive with The Trummytones. Fusing tuba, drums, accordion and trombone, The Trummytones create an incredible ska/reggae/zydeco sound that got everyone jumping. After their performance kids were invited to touch and play the instruments.
Ty Allen Jackson got the crowd to use their imagination when reading his book When I Close My Eyes about a little girl with an incredible imagination. His animated style was a big hit and brought on lots of audience participation.
Hip Tot sponsor Carpingo, Brooklyn’s own car sharing company, gave out lots of free swag: frisbees, sunglasses, and four tickets to see the Brooklyn Cyclones! Plus everyone can use code HIPTOT75 to get $75 FREE driving when they sign up for Carpingo!
We can’t wait to see you at the next Hip Tot Family Day Sunday July 13th 11am @ Lakeside with Audra Rox — don’t miss it!
