The Trummytones was hands down my favorite band to see yet at a Hip Tot. Ok, I will admit, I’ve been a Vinny Nobile fan for way longer than I’ve known the word Kindie. I must have seen Bim Skala Bim perform dozens of times. So when Vinny approached me to tell me that he was in on the Kindie bandwagon I couldn’t wait to book them!
Lets just start with the instruments. What kid wouldn’t want to see a tuba, trombone, accordion, sax, ukelele and drums right before their eyes… ALL AT ONE TIME! Not only that but the accordion is ORANGE and the guy who plays it you might have just seen him the other day on the L train platform playing that squeeze box with all his might. They also invited one of Hip Tot’s faves, Amelia Robinson, creator of Mil’s Trills and electric ukelele player extraordinaire!
Not only did we have a stellar performance by The Trummytones, we had Betsy Bird, one if the most awesome story tellers in NY, read her new book Giant Dance Party. And not only did she read it, she danced and wore the most awesome aqua blue leg warmers ever!
